Visited for the first time for a birthday lunch with my 4 month baby and mum last week. Menu was great, food and drink was delicious and just had to buy extra to take home. Atmosphere was relaxed, friendly and accommodating which helped when I was worried about my little one getting upset during lunch. Service was the best I’ve ever experienced from Bob and the team and it was topped off by Ali kindly offering to hold my baby to allow me to eat my lunch it was the most thoughtful and considerate gesture I have experienced when dining in. Thank you so much, you made my birthday special by allowing me to make a wish by giving me a candle on my cake

Second time we’ve been, but we booked this time to be sure of a table. It’s very popular and easy to see why! We go when travelling north as it’s not much of a detour off the A90. Love everything about the place. Great range of soup and sandwiches, with monthly specials on offer too. The salad accompaniment is so different, but if salad’s not your bag, you can swap out for crisps. They have an amazing array of cakes, including GF options.

The Lass O'Gowrie is an absolute gem of a lunch spot that we’re thrilled to have discovered. Booking through Facebook Messenger was easy and efficient—a smart move given how popular the place clearly is. The food was excellent from start to finish. The toasties were perfectly crisp, generously filled, and bursting with flavour, while the soup was wonderfully hearty and thick, ideal for a cozy midday meal. However, the true highlight was the cake selection—an astonishing variety that defies belief. Every slice we tried was top-tier, beautifully made, and clearly crafted with care. This charming spot is a must-visit for anyone in the area.

Absolutely fantastic service and food. Highly recommend and will be back. The nut one soup, chicken chorizo soup, spicy black pudding toasty and a ham sandwich, followed by coffee and cake. Under 40

Lovely lunch.Great service. Nice menu and 4 types of soup. Lots of lovely vegan and dairy free cakes. Delicious coffee. Being dog friendly was the cherry on top of the cake. Treats and water are always a bonus for your furry friend.

We were so happy that we have stumbled on this place. The food was incredible and very reasonably priced. At some point a couple arrived with 2 dogs. Before they were seated next to us, we and 2 other people were asked if we had issues with large dogs. I think that is very thoughtful of the staff. They were overall very friendly, the toilets were nice and clean. Really nice place to have lunch.

Lovely Sunday lunch with the family and our dog who was also made very welcome. We chose toasties from the specials menu which were amazing. The flavour combinations were fabulous. Even the side salad was the best I have ever had. No room for cake but will definitely be back. Very efficient waiting staff that are all very friendly. Definitely worth a visit- I can’t wait to return.
